English artist, son of William Strutt.

Alfred was an animal, genre and portrait painter. Born in New Zealand, early years were spent in Australia. He studied with his father and at the government schools at South Kensington. His sisters Rosa and Laura were also artists. From 1879 he exhibited at the Royal Academy, the New Watercolour Society and other London venues.
