Maud Mackenzie 1868-1947 grew up in the North West coast of Tasmania where her parents were farmers. She studied painting at the National Gallery School, Melbourne in 1891-2 under Frederick McCubbin then took private lessons under Walter Withers.
She exhibited oil studies in the Victorian Artists Society exhibitions of 1894 and 1895.
