"AN AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL PICTURE
The national pride and admiration inspired by pictures showing deeds of great valor will be felt by every Australian and New Zealander on viewing Percy Leason's magnificent picture "The Landing of the Australian and New Zealand Expeditionary Forces, Gallipoli, 25th April, 1915," The incident shown is one of the most brilliant and daring achievements in the annals of military history, and showed to the world, for the first time, the wonderful resource, courage, endurance, and fearless fighting qualities for which our brave troops have since become famous. The difficulties confronting our brave soldiers after the landing are clearly shown by the steep hills on the left of the picture, on which our troops established themselves in the face of a murderous fire from an enemy much more numerous.
Percy Leason's splendid conception of this famous landing will serve as a national monument of inspiration, reminding Australians and New Zealanders of the great' part these young nations are playing in this tremendous war for the preservation of our Empire and the freedom of the nations of the earth against a tyrannical and brutal enemy, A reproduction of this noteable picture in oils by the latest process, which ensures the faithful reproduction of the original in every detail of shade and colour, has just been issued. It is printed on heavy art paper, 25 inches by 20 inches, the coloured surface being 20 x 14 inches. Mr P Leason is a native of Kaniva, and brother of Mr J C Leason. The picture may be bought at Miss E.N. Smiths." Lawloit Times, Kaniva, Vic. (1910 - 1929) , Tuesday 14 December 1915
