Watercolour Harold Brees was an artist, architect and surveyor like his father, Samuel Charles Brees. He was active in Sydney from 1858 until 1886 Brees entered three watercolours for an Art Prize and exhibitioin at the Art Gallery of NSW in 1882. "Hiding From Pursuit," the "Boundary Rider" and "Cattle Drovers" ... the horses and men in each drawing being full of animation" refer Illustrated Sydney News, 13 May, 1882, page 3
