Sealers in Western Port
Lithograph "The two earliest views of Victoria were published in the atlas volume of the account of the explorer Dumont D'Urville's Voyage de la corvette L'Astrolabe ..1826-1829, published in Paris in 1833. .. On 12 November 1826, the ship entered Westernport Bay where five sealers with Tasmanian Aboriginal wives had erected huts and were cultivating gardens, wheat and maize.
