"Between Sadness and Joy - Must have been a quote I saw somewhere. I have always liked the shadows of the cypress trees. I have used them in many paintings over the years. To actually paint them takes time and can become very sculptural. The gymnast has been put in to balance the painting" - Jeff Ferris
