Avalon is an old western suburbs area between Melbourne and Geelong. The new Avalon airport is now operating. I was driving down to Geelong and saw the old building in the distance – near Avalon. The idea of living out there struck a chord with me – much like the early settlers’ families, these areas also had their pioneers.
