Literature:   …The bull now used with the herd is Galgacus Booth, by Field-Marshall Booth, bred by Mr R. McDougall, from whom he was purchased for 500 guineas.  This is really a splendid animal, with a back as level as a table, and all that could be desired as regards form. This was a very symmetrical & rich fleshed Bull
One thousand Guineas was refused for him when 2 years old
And afterwards asked if twelve hundred could buy him, likewise refused
