Harvesters 1965
Oil on board Molteninov (born 1924), turned 90 last November. There was a party and presentation at the Artists' Union to mark the occasion. Recently a Chinese gallery paid him US$ 10,000 each for a selection of his large Soviet Realist paintings. Expensive to buy from, but he is just about the only artist of this generation with period paintings to sell. Trebled his prices. Premium artist.
