Eveline Syme

Granddaughter of Ebenezer Syme, co-founder of The Age.

Studied La Grande Chaumiè, Paris 1922-23;
Grosvenor School of Modern Art , London (painting with Ian McNab, linocuts with Claude Flight) 1929;
Académie Lhote, Paris 1929-30;
George Bell School, Melbourne c1939.

She exhibited at the VAS from 1924 and with the Melbourne Society of Women Painters and Sculptors and was a founding member of the Contemporary Group 1932 and later exhibited with the Independent Group.
