Judy Warne
Her rural roots exposed, Dunkeld artist Judy Warne uses the humble rabbit as a vehicle to express her passion for human justice, which has been the driving force behind her work for over 20 years.
The large hessian clad, brown rabbits are burdened and thoughtful, they reflect the artist's deep concern for displaced people. The 17 small bronze sculptures, on the other hand, use humour to express her anguish over social justice matters. Neither politician nor celebrity escapes her commentary.
Judy Warne's previous exhibitions include the Divine Cow series at Australian Galleries, Melbourne in 1995 and Underland at Nellie Castan Gallery in 2005.
Her work can be found in Artbank and many private collections
