Aleksandr Ivanovich Sokolov
1918-1973
Born 1 December 1918 in Aleshki village, Voronezh Province, Aleksandr Ivanovich Sokolov painted both portraits and landscapes. In 1950 he graduated from the Ilya Repin Institute in Viktor Oreshnikov's workshop. He was a pupil of Veniamin Belkin, Mikhail Bernshtein, Pavel Naumov, Andrey Milnikov. Sokolov has been exhibiting since 1950 and has also been a member of LCRAU since 1950. Paintings by Aleksandr Sokolov are in the State Russian Museum, and in art galleries and private collections in England, France and North America.
