The Troops Landing at Anzac Cove (1915) chromolithograph in our collection is in the Art’s reproduction collection and has not been photographed , so is not listed on out publically accessible website. We have the work catalogued with its full title, The Landing of the Australian and Expeditionary Forces, Gallipoli, April 25, 1915 and believe it is by Percy Leason (1889-1959) and is based on an oil painting he did of the same subject, location unknown. This reproduction print was probably produced during the First World War as part of a print run, numbers unknown. Our catalogue information for this work indicates that it was printed by The Specialty Press Pty Ltd in Melbourne.
We recently had Max Leason, Percy Leason’s son, contact us to offer the same print to us, which we declined and I noticed that there is currently also a copy of the same print being offered for sale through EBay. However, I think the print is quite rare.
