Podlyaski studied at the Repin Institute until 1949 when he was elected a member of the Artists' Union. A leading young realist of the 1950s his most important shows included All Union Art Exhibition, Moscow, 1949-1952 and 1955 and Soviet Russia, Moscow, 1960Yuri Podlyaski's Gallery
