Born in 1947 in Leningrad to the well known Leningrad painters Anatoli Levitin and Maiya Kopytiseva. He studied painting at the Repin Institute in the late 60s and early 70s. Member of the Artists' Union. Married to the graphic artist Irina Senkova, their daughter graduated from the Repin Institute graphics department in 1998. Levitin paints portraits, lansdcapes and still life compositions in a highly realistic style.
