Born Leningrad, 1926. Studied at the Tavricheski Art School 1944-1945 and the Repin Academy 1946-1953 under Professor Ioganson. Larina joined the Artists' Union in 1954. She taught at the Leningrad Higher School of Design 1966-1975.  Important shows include 'Soviet Russia', Moscow, 1960. Larina is married to the theatre designer Vladimir Stepanov.
