These paintings, acquired from studios in St. Petersburg, are a record of the artists’ lives over the last fifty years. City views, portrait studies, still life compositions and studies of leisure time and working life all show the skill and vision of the artists and are clear demonstrations of their long and rigorous academic training.
Writer, academic and tour guide extraordinaire Dr. Judith Armstrong will open the exhibition, she will also read an extract from her new novel War & Peace and Sonya which explores the relationship between Sonya Tolstoy and her famous author husband Leo Tolstoy
