Early Australian Painters
Includes paintings by colonial artists J. H. Carse and J. W. Curtis and the lesser known American artist Augustus Baker Peirce also little known Phillip Lee and an early view of the Shoalhaven by Louis Frank. Also included are an early Madonna and Child after Michelangelo by C. D Richardson; a beautiful early portrait by much neglected artist Gordon Coutts who painted the charming portrait of the little girl seen here; french landscapes by Rupert Bunny; two lithographs by Charles Conder; a spanish procession by Ambrose Patterson; a Derwent Lees portrait of his wife; and others.
